Synopsis: A five week structured and guided course of insight and loving kindness meditation. This course has been specially designed for anyone to study and practice in their own home, covering vipassana meditation, mindfulness of breathing, loving kindness meditation, and mindfulness, with question and answer sessions. ~Happiness is a goal common to all beings. It is the very reason for everything we do. We spend all our waking moments in the pursuit of this goal. And yet, happiness itself is so illusive. Everything you have tried in your life has so far failed you. It has not brought lasting happiness. You now feel that perhaps a course of insight meditation will do it for you. And actually it will. Because insight meditation is not about creating more, ultimately impermanent, feelings of happiness. This unique form of meditation has the function of realising for ourselves the source of our unhappiness, and then eradicating it. It is not about doing something else to be happy, or simply about feeling good after sitting with our eyes closed, but about letting go of the very cause of our unhappiness. When we can let go of the persistent, and ultimately selfish desire to be happy, happiness comes by itself.~Michael Kewley.
